EAP Retention - Loss of Momentum

Course retention for EAP students tends to be very good (85 - 100%).  However, some EAP students tend to leave us in between courses.  When looking at the table above, we see that for our program, the most drop takes place in level 4- that of 8% when comparing it to the College.

We will call this ..........a LOSS of MOMENTUM or the time identified when more students leave the program.

  • Given this information, what can we do before level 4 to ensure students remain in the program and complete a degree?
  • What kind of questions would be ask students to identify these factors?
  • What type of services do EAP students need to stay in the program?
